Located in Dossena in the Brembana Valley, the ‘Ponte del Sole’ is the longest Tibetan bridge in the world. The new bridge opened on 14 May 2022 spans 505 metres and offers a breathtaking view of the Orobic Pre-Alps.
The new Tibetan bridge connects Dossena with the former Roccolo della Carna Bianca shooting range, ideally retracing part of the ancient via Mercatorum, which was lost during the construction of the provincial road linking Dossena and Serina.
Visit the Mines of Dossena
Thirty-four years after the definitive cessation of mining activities, the ancient mines of Dossena have finally been reopened to the public, after lengthy restoration and safety work. From here it is possible to admire a naturalistic panorama millions of years old, which gave rise to the communities of Dossena and the neighbouring villages since the time of the Roman Empire, founded precisely on the exploitation of geological resources.
